The documentary “Sisters of Selma” will be shown Wednesday, July 31, at the Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse at Carlow University in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood, starting at 7 p.m. The hour-long documentary is about the Catholic sisters who joined voting rights protests in Selma, Alabama, in 1965. The final talk in the summer series on mental health at Sacred Heart Parish in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood will focus on college suicide prevention, “Away at School.” Talk is from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, in parish auditorium. Sponsored by Sacred Heart and St. Raphael parishes, along with Listening Friends and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, program is free and open to the public. Schedule is: weekday Masses, 9 a.m., St. Bede; Eucharistic adoration and confessions, Saturday, 9:30-10:30 a.m., St. Bede; Saturday vigil, 4 p.m. at St. James and 5:30 p.m. at St. Bede; Sunday Masses, 8 a.m. at St. Bede, 9 a.m. at Mother of Good Counsel Church of St. Charles Lwanga Parish, 10 a.m. at St. James, 11 a.m. at St. Bede.


Addiction Recovery Ministry invites the public to save the date for “Come Together to Fight Addiction,” dinner Saturday, Oct. 5, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood.
