Basketball Camp for Girls

Bishop Canevin High School will sponsor a Lady Crusaders Girls Basketball Camp from 9 a.m.-noon, Tuesday, July 27, through Friday, July 30, at the high school campus, located at 2700 Morange Road in Pittsburgh’s Oakwood neighborhood. The camp is for girls entering Grades 3-8. The cost is $80, and includes a T-shirt and basketball. For information, call 412-848-2061.

Polish Day

The Polish Cultural Council will celebrate Polish Day at Kennywood Amusement Park in West Mifflin on Tuesday, Aug. 3, beginning at noon. Bishop David Zubik, along with the Fraternity of Polish Priests, will celebrate Mass at 3 p.m., accompanied by the Karuzela Chorus. Bagna Calda Contest

A Bagna Calda (Italian dipping sauce) taste-testing contest will be held at the Festa Italiana di Vandergrift on Sunday, Aug. 15, in Kennedy Park in Vandergrift. Judging is at 3 p.m., and entries must be in the booth before noon. For information, or to submit an entry, call 724-265-4603 by Aug. 9.

Work of human hands sale

St. Valentine Parish in Bethel Park will sponsor a fair trade Work of Human Hands sale on Saturday, Aug. 14, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 15, from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Handmade items for sale include scarves, baskets, pottery, jewelry and more, as well as fair trade coffee, chocolate and tea. Proceeds benefit Jubilee Kitchen in Pittsburgh’s Uptown neighborhood. For information, call 412-831-8312.

Prayer breakfast

Magnificat, a ministry for women, will host a prayer breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 21, from 9 a.m.-noon, at the Sheraton Four Points in Cranberry Township. Living in Love

A mini-retreat for married couples titled “Living in Love” will be held at St. Richard Parish in Richland Township on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 8 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 29, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The program features lively presentations and private discussions. Calix Society
