St. Catherine of Sweden Parish in Hampton Township continues its Spiritual Therapeutic Recovery Ministry for those struggling with a loved one’s addiction. Meetings are conducted by psychologist David Gentile, and are held from 7-8:30 p.m. in parish’s children’s chapel. Upcoming meetings are Thursdays, Jan. 10 and 24. Newcomers are always welcome. The Spirit Refill team of St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Perrysville welcomes all to recitation of the rosary Sunday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. Following rosary, Father Christopher Mannerino will discuss Our Lady of Kibeho, Rwanda, and Our Lady Mother of Sorrows.



The National Association of Pastoral Musicians Pittsburgh announces “Pizza, Pipes and Prayer: A Night for the Organist — The Advantage of Creating Hybrid Organs from Existing Pipe Organs,” to be presented by George Pecoraro during monthly meeting Monday, Jan. 14, at Holy Name Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish in Duquesne. SS. Simon and Jude Parish in Scott Township welcomes public to Respect Life Day on Friday, Jan. 18. Celebration begins with Respect Life Mass at noon, followed by rosary for life at 1 p.m. and witness walk, Eucharistic adoration at 1:30 p.m.


The theme for the 2019 March for Life is “Unique from Day One: Pro-Life is Pro-Science.” March will be held in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Jan. 18. People Concerned for the Unborn Child has compiled a list of buses leaving from sites in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. For listing, visit The following parishes will sponsor a bus:

The Butler/Center/Meridian-Lyndora parish grouping is teaming up to participate in March for Life. Day starts with Mass at 5 a.m. at St. Michael Parish in Butler, followed by boarding of bus at 5:30 a.m. Expected return to Butler is 11:30 p.m. Cost is $25 for adults, $20 for students, with family discounts available. Public is invited to escape to Margaritaville as Tom Watt presents a Jimmy Buffett concert in Oldenski Hall of St. Ferdinand Parish in Cranberry Township on Saturday, Jan. 19. The Palestrina Choir School will open a music studio in New Castle. Studio is forming classes in Gregorian chant, strings, keyboard, voice and classical guitar.
