40 Days for Life will kick off Tuesday, March 5, with a pro-life Mass at 6 p.m. at St. Patrick Church of St. Patrick-St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, followed by one-mile procession to Planned Parenthood in Downtown Pittsburgh. St. James Parish in Sewickley announces it will have Eucharistic adoration Mondays-Fridays during Lent. Adoration begins after 9 a.m. Mass until 9 p.m. (Fridays until 6:45 p.m., followed by Stations of the Cross).

The feast of St. Catherine of Sweden (patroness of miscarried, stillborn, aborted babies, and those who died shortly after birth) will be recognized at St. Catherine of Sweden Parish in Hampton Township, beginning Friday, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. with Eucharistic adoration through morning prayer and Benediction at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 23. Special memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., followed by procession and placing of white flower for each baby at parish’s outdoor memorial. Light reception will follow in Farmer Hall. The beatification of Blessed Clelia Merloni, foundress of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, will be commemorated with a Mass at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg on Sunday, March 24, at 11:30 a.m., followed by veneration of relic of Blessed Clelia. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Edward Malesic, and is open to the public.
